NetWay8M/NetWay16M User Interface and Programming:
Note: A constant PC connection is not required for proper operations and is used as a local programming/monitoring tool only.
Step1. SetLocalAreaConnectionofyourlaptoptoDHCPmode.
For Windows XP:
a.OpenNetworkConnectionsbyclickingStartbutton,thenclickingSettings,thenclickingNetwork Connections.
b.RightclicktheLocal Area Connection.ClickProperties. Administrator permission required
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
c.DoubleclickInternet Protocol (TCP/IP) menu item.
d. Choose the Obtain an IP address automatically option.
e.ClickOK. Close all windows.
For Windows Vista:
a.OpenNetworkConnectionsbyclickingtheStartbuttonPictureoftheStartbutton,clickingControl Panel,
clickingNetwork and Internet,clickingNetwork and Sharing Center,andthenclickingManage Network
connections.
b.RightclicktheLocal Area Connectionicon,andthenclickProperties. Administrator permission required
If you are prompted for an administrator password or confirmation, type the password or provide confirmation.
c.ClicktheNetworkingtab.Underthisconnectionusesthefollowingitems,clickeitherInternet Protocol
Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6),andthenclickProperties.
d.TospecifyIPv4IPaddresssettings,clickObtain an IP address automatically,andthenclickOK.
e.TospecifyIPv6IPaddresssettings,clickObtain an IPv6 address automatically,andthenclickOK.
For Windows 7:
a.OpenNetworkConnectionsbyclickingtheStartbuttonPictureoftheStartbutton,clickingControl Panel,
clickingNetwork and Internet,clickingNetwork and Sharing Center,andthenclickingChange Adapter
Settings.
b.RightclicktheLocal Area Connectionicon,andthenclickProperties. Administrator permission required

c.ClicktheNetworkingtab.Underthisconnectionusesthefollowingitems,clickeitherInternet Protocol
Version 4 (TCP/IPv4) or Internet Protocol Version 6 (TCP/IPv6),andthenclickProperties.
d.TospecifyIPv4IPaddresssettings,clickObtain an IP address automatically,andthenclickOK.
e.TospecifyIPv6IPaddresssettings,clickObtain an IPv6 address automatically,andthenclickOK.
Step2. ConnectalaptoporPCtotheEthernetportofyourNetWayMunit,orconnectyourNetWayMandlaptop/PCto
aDHCProuterifNetWayMisinDHCPmode.TheNetWayMunitshouldbepoweredupatthismoment.
Step3. Openabrowserwindow(itisnecessarytoupdateyourbrowsersoftwaretothelatestversionsothatthepages
display and function correctly).
Step4. EntertheNetWayMIPaddress(thedefaultIPaddressis192.168.168.168),orentertheNetWayMhostnameif
inDHCPmode(defaulthostnameis“NetWayM1”,)intotheaddressbar.Statuspagewillbedisplayed.
Step5. ClickSetuplink.Setuppagewillbedisplayed.YoumaynowprogramyourNetWayM.
All NetWayM units come factory set:
a. Ports - Enabled.
b.Ports-PoEshutdownDisabled.
c. Power Allocation Mode - Class restricted.
Port Priority:
NetWayM allows you to prioritize ports so that power will be allocated to the port with the highest priority first and the
lowest priority last. This will ensure that ports with the higher priority will continue to operate in the event the
NetWayM is overloaded. Priority is designated 1 through 8, with 1 as the highest and 8 as the lowest.
NetWay8M - Port priority is factory set at 1 through 8 for ports 1 through 8.
NetWay16M - Port priority is factory set at 1 through 8 for ports 1 through 8 and 1 through 8 for ports 9 through 16.
1. To reassign port priority select desired number from the drop down box for that corresponding port.
It is necessary to assign the port with the highest priority first and continue in ascending order.
2. ClickSubmit to save the changes or proceed with programming.
Note: Access Control Ports must have highest priority.
Port Identification:
NetWayMallowsyoutoidentifyeachport(IDupto8characters).
1. TypethedesiredIDintothetextboxforeachcorrespondingport.
2. ClickSubmit to save the changes or proceed with programming.
